Avion/AvTask is comprised of two separate companies that share common ownership; a common facility and a common mission of designing and developing cost-effective tools and technologies for the repair, overhaul and balance of helicopter rotor blades.
Avion Manufacturing, Inc. was opened in 1992 and developed equipment to perform static balancing of helicopter rotor blades. Since that time over 200 balance fixtures have been manufactured and sold to the U.S. Army, foreign military, commercial manufacturers and overhaul facilities. Over 50 different rotor blade types may be balanced using Avion equipment.
AvTask, Inc, originally a joint venture formed with resources from Avion, Inc and Task Research in 2001, developed, an innovative, non-intrusive process, the “Magic Box”, which provides AvTask with the capability to remove entrapped water from rotor blades, a problem common to all CH-47 rotor blades. Since its inception, over 1,200 blades have been completed for the U.S. Army, The Boeing Company, and foreign military customers.

In 2004 we built a modern facility just west of St. Louis, Mo. The facility was built specifically to support the blade repair process and for manufacturing balancing equipment and other supporting tools. The structure, originally constructed as a 17,500 sq ft facility, has been expanded to 34,000 sq ft. The growth is consistant with our growing reputation and success.
Our Quality Management System has evolved in parallel to the facility expansion and process development. We were originally certified to ISO 9001:1994 in 2001. In 2006, Avion/AvTask was certified to AS9100:2004. As a follow on to AS9100 we have now been certified to BQMS, Appendix A as required by The Boeing Company.
We are proud of our new facility, the professional personnel we have assembled, and our record of delivering quality products and services.
