Universal Static Balance Fixture (USBF)

The Universal Static Balance Fixture (USBF) is an Avion-developed product that is being used throughout the world, to perform static balancing of helicopter main rotor blades.

The system is extremely accurate and very repeatable - If used in a routine blade maintenance program, the USBF will significantly reduce test flight hours and ensure that your inventory of rotor blades is interchangeable. We recently introduced new system software utilizing a Windows platform. That software will be supportable well into the future.

The system is truly universal- The Avion equipment is approved for all U.S Army helicopter blades, it will balance most of the U.S. Navy’s blades and has been adapted to balance many of the European helicopter blades. If you have a unique blade requirement, give us a call. Development of hardware and software to accommodate new blade types can be done quickly upon request.

The system is reliable – we have a proven record of reliability. Many of our fixtures have been in the field for over ten years with no major problems. If software updates are issued, they are provided to our customers at no charge. The system is delivered with a two year, iron-clad warranty. Service, when required, is done promptly.
